General Information
Department of Infectious and Tropical Diseases started working in 1996 with the establishment of 10 beds in the inner part of Imam Khomeini Hospital, which was later increased to 14 beds. With the transfer of Imam Reza hospital, the department of infectious diseases with isolation rooms equipped by negative pressure and quarantine equipment started in 2006 with 25 beds located in the northeast side of the hospital at -1 floor. This ward has a separate entrance for highly contagious epidemics and an isolated entrance and facilities for visiting and meeting people around through the observation corridor. 5 rooms of the hospital have been equipped for respiratory epidemics. The educational and therapeutic clinic of the infectious diseases department is also active with the establishment of two nested rooms located in the referral clinic part of the hospital. Infectious disease clinic is open for visiting patients for 3 days at week with the presence of professors and residents.
