Educational activities of Infectious Disease
 

Teaching and training
 
  • Infectious Diseases Group established in 1961 which was located in the former Babak Hospital (Hafte Tir) in that time.
  •  The number of specialized graduates are about 111 and the number of Prevention Fellowship graduates and Control of Nosocomial Infections are 3.
  •  In infectious group, training has been done for 3 groups: internship, Stager, and nursing.
  •  According to medical sciences university requirements, Specific training course will be held like as it has been recently held in relation with Corona.
  •  Bone Marrow Puncture (Bone Marrow Aspiration), Bone Marrow Biopsy, Pleural Puncture (Thoracentesis), Pleural Biopsy, Lumbar Puncture and Paracentesis are important procedures which are carrying out at infectious disease group sections.

Infectious disease department has a conference hall equipped with a video projector, which is active every day from 08:00 to 09:00 in the morning.  Ward classes, morning reports, and grand round hold in it. After that, practical educations and conferences are dedicated. From 09:30 to 10:30, the intern and extern rounds are be held, followed by the resident visit. From 10:30 to 12:30, a follow-up visit will be conducted by professors with the presence of all residents and medical students.
 
 

Mission                                                              
The mission of this field is to train efficient specialist doctors to provide services in the fields of prevention, control, elimination, eradication and treatment of infectious diseases and their complications with the highest quality, reduce the burden of diseases in the country and expansion the research and knowledge in this field.
Teaching & Learning Methods:
For theoretical education (self-study, Lectures - Planned lectures - Intra-department and Intra hospital conferences - Group work)
For procedures (Using skill-lab, virtual methods, and study on the real patients)
For clinical education:  Morning report, morbidity and mortality report, discharge report, Fallow up Report, Selected patient report, CPC, Journal club, Educational clinic)
