Educational activities of Physical medicine and rehabilitatio
Physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) academic department was established by Dr.Sadigh mostofi in the 1994 (1373). In the first years after establishment, 4 residents recruited every year but now after development of educational and research activities, 6 residents every year are accepted for residency training in this department.
For medical students including stagers and physiopathology level teaching classes are instructed every term. We have not fellowship or subspecialty courses in this department but PM&R residents are trained in the novel fields such as pain interventions for lumbar and cervical discopathies, spinal canal stenosis, neurorehabilitation,and peripheral joints injections under ultrasound guidance in several academic sections including Imam Reza ,shohada and shahid madani hospitals, Physical medicine and rehabilitation centers.
